Licensing Requirements

   To find out how many continuing education hours that you have on file, you can go to www.accesskansas.org/krec and click on the "Check CEU Hours" tab.

   To see a list of courses available, select "Education" and then "Continuing Education"

   In general, the following statements apply:

   To re-activate a license that has been inactive for less than two years, the licensee needs to fill out the License Change form, and pay a re-activation fee of $15.00. The form is available on the following website: www.accesskansas.org/krec. Click the "Forms" tab and then click "License-Licensee Change Form." You will be required to fill out sections one and five. Submit this form along with verification of your continuing education hours, and the $15.00 fee, to the Kansas Real Estate Commission for license renewal. Be sure that your new broker has signed the form before it is submitted.

   A license that has been on inactive status for two or more years requires six penalty hours for each full year of inactive status. If you do not recall the inactivity date, you may contact Norma Rolfe at 785-296-3413 to find out the date that your license was put on inactive status.

   In addition to the penalty hours, you must complete the normal 12 hours of continuing education for the immediately preceding licensed renewal period. If you were inactive and completed hours during a prior license renewal period, those hours may be applied toward the penalty requirement. Norma Rolfe can be of assistance in determining if any prior hours on record can be applied.

   If the license has been inactive for five or more years, the normal CEU and penalty hours apply. In addition to this, the person must re-take the licensing examination. Please contact Kelly White at 785-296-2099 for assistance in scheduling the examination.
